Starting at a freezing 4800m and finishing in the tropical jungle at 1000m this is one of the most spectacular roads in the world -and one of the most dangerous. Until the begining of this year this road claimed an incredible 350 -400 lives every year!!! Now there is a new road which takes most of the traffic and you can fly down the old road on a full suspension mountain bike and scare yourself as much as you want on the way down. The death toll is now nothing like it was still, 14 mountain bikers have hurtled off the edge to their death.....
Obviously I survived. One of the best days of my trip.

Dear XXXXXX XXXXX
This has been much more than inconvenient for me. I have almost no money to pay for acomodation or food. What little cash I had left was largely used in calling your call center who not only put me on hold for long periods when I was asking simple questions but also, it seems, incorrectly told me that my card must have been damaged and that is why it will not work.
I have spent a very full and very frustrating day in several different very bureaucratic Bolivian banks trying to find a way to access some of my money. I was so desperate that I have also been in touch with the British High comission here in La Paz to see if they can help.
Not only have I been "inconvenienced" by this warning code but I have also had to cope with the real possibility of being on the street in a dangerous city with nowhere to stay nothing to eat and no means to get at my money or to get home.
I let some of your collegues know before I left where I was going to be and I was assured that there would be no problem. When my XXXX debit card was stolen and I contacted XXXX to cancel that card I again explained that I was travelling in South America for several months and that therefore I would not be able to recieve a new card through the post. I recieved a nonsensical email in reply saying that I should be recieving my new card soon.
I have no idea what these parameters are that you mention and how that has resulted in this warning code on my card. All I know is that I have had a pretty scary 24hours and I would really appreciate being able to use my card again.
So I would like this warning code to be removed and removed in such a way that I can use my card now. And, when I do come to use my card again please could you make sure there are no parameters or warning codes waiting to drop back onto my account.
In stark contrast I had a very different experience when I contacted XXXXX bank -where I have a basic and barely used account- who were able to arrange a way for me to recieve some cash.
Kindest Regards
Roger Robinson
