What Map?

I did do a map honest! Google Maps website is down at the moment with this message

"We are experiencing difficulties. A horde of donkeys has been dispatched to fix our servers."

Speaking of monkeys (!) anyone familiar with the infinate monkey theorem? -about monkeys randomly hitting keys on a typewriter and one day turning out the complete works of Shakespeare. Well there is now a serious flaw it this theory because some of the monkeys have escaped and are working the phones at my bank.

Buenos Aires is big and very european. Some parts are a bit like Paris but with no rude french people and with better wine and steak -and of course at 10th the price! Ive got about 75 Pesos per day for my last four days -about 10 or 12 pounds -which is cutting it a bit fine but should be enough.

I have also bought a ticket to see River Plate on Sun who are playing a team called Newells Old Boys who are apparently referred to as leprosos (lepers)!! Should be interesting.

I will post some pics of mennonites which I took in Santa Cruz de la Sierra -when my camera is charged. At first I thought they were gringos in fancy dress on some kind of piss up but no just genuinely wierd looking people.

P.S. anyone fancy picking me up at the airport -midday on the 15th?

My Travels in South America

Another map for you. Seemed appropriate -only a few more days left now. I recommend zooming in on the World Most Dangerous Road... I am back in Salta after an epic 3 bus, 4 taxi 30 hour trip from Santa Cruz on dodgy Bolivian buses. Off to Buenos Aires next. 24hours in a real bus -the buses in Argentina are nothing like any bus I have ever been on before. Ive booked "completo calma" right at the front of the double decker bus, which is basicly a room to myself with a fully reclining chair that is bigger than a single bed!!- and because Im right at the front I will have the best view in the house as we go through Las Pampas. Nice. All for under 30GBP. A bit the the magic bus to fallowfield. Check them out.

When I havent been siting in a bus I seem to be spending most of my time hanging around in banks -still having problems getting cash -Ive got money just cant get at it... Im really running low and Im hoping that I can get by until I get to a bank in Buenos Aires.

The Worlds Most Dangerous Road

P1090298, originally uploaded by lumixrog.

Starting at a freezing 4800m and finishing in the tropical jungle at 1000m this is one of the most spectacular roads in the world -and one of the most dangerous. Until the begining of this year this road claimed an incredible 350 -400 lives every year!!! Now there is a new road which takes most of the traffic and you can fly down the old road on a full suspension mountain bike and scare yourself as much as you want on the way down. The death toll is now nothing like it was still, 14 mountain bikers have hurtled off the edge to their death.....

Obviously I survived. One of the best days of my trip.
